If you know me you’ll know that music is one of my biggest passions, the word passion sounds so lame but that’s how I like to describe it. I’ve been playing the guitar for a while now and this month I’ve learnt to play a few songs that made me feel like A MUSICAL GODDESS, there was Ed Sheeran – Shape of You and the start of James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go. I feel slightly sorry for my boyfriend who had to listen to me playing the same 10 seconds of Ed Sheeran over and over whilst I was learning it, soz but I sound slightly fab now.
ANYWAY, HERE ARE THE MUSIC ARTISTS I’VE BEEN LOVING THIS MONTH:
I’ve been subscribed to this girl on YouTube for quite some time, recently she posted a mash-up song called ‘Every Song You’ve Ever Wanted Me to Sing’ and I’m SLIGHTLY OBSESSED! I’ve probably listened to it about 50 times already, if not more, bearing in mind it’s 8 minutes long.
This song is from their album ‘Be Nothing’ and I feel like it’s everything I love about pop punk in 2 minutes and 47 seconds, the lyric ‘WHO THE FUCK DID WE THINK YOU’D BE’ is just so teenage pop punk me. It reminds me of every gig I’ve ever been to and crowd surfed and moshed, it’s filled with so many happy connotations. I could listen to it all day on repeat and it would bring me heaps of JOY!
She’s another Singer/Songwriter that posts original songs to YouTube, she’s incredibly good bearing in mind I think she’s only 16. Two of my favourites by her have to be ‘First Place’ and ‘Zero’.
This isn’t the typical kinda thing that I listen to but ever since I heard Bethan Leadly do a cover of it I was like, I NEED TO LISTEN TO THE REAL VERSION, IT’S BEAUTIFUL! What makes this song so desirable to listen to is how well GNASH and Olivia O’Brien’ voices complement each other!
This is honestly one of the most RELAXING songs I’ve ever heard, the light piano and the singer’s soothing voice makes it a perfect tune to chill out to. It strikes me as one of those songs that you’d want to listen to in the bath, with a bath bomb in and low candle light, to create a stress-free environment.
This band will always hold a special place in my heart, they were the ones I would listen to when I was seventeen and I’d had a rough day. Their lyrics would be like yeah things are a bit crap but we relate and you can get through this! I was them live at the London Underworld almost 2 years ago now and it was one of the most intimate and special live shows I’ve ever been to!
These are some of the artists/ bands I’ve been loving this month, who have you been listening to?
