I’ve been trying out many different drugstore highlights for well over a year now, some of the brands I tried included Revolution, Barry M, Sleek and Maybelline, but I was still after a little more shine. I wasn’t fussed about spending slightly more money, I wanted one item that I could say this is my HOLY GRAIL highlighter, one I could save for events and nights out, one that truly made my cheeks pop, one that would make people ask ‘what highlighter are you using?’, I think I may have found THE ONE!
I first came across the ‘Afterglow’ palette whilst browsing the Urban Decay store in Cambridge, I was tempted as soon as I saw the shimmering lilac packaging, I think I get drawn in a little too easy. Afterglow contains four beautiful colours, there’s ‘Bliss’ which is a light gold, ‘Peroxide’ which is a pinky/purple, ‘NSFW’ which is a golden copper and ‘Side Piece’ that’s a darker gold than Bliss. I would tell you my favourite shade but I still can’t decide, there isn’t a shade that I find myself reaching for any less than others! The pan sizes of each individual highlight are a decent size, there are 4.55grams in each, pretty good going for a price of £27 I’d say. Oh, one final point that sold the palette to me was the size of the mirror, it wasn’t one of those skinny long ones where you struggle to see all of your cheeks in, it’s pretty much the size of the palette, what you see is what you get here!
WHAT I THINK NOW:
I’ve owned this palette for just over a month now and I still can’t notice a dent of colour missing from any of the pans, I’m hoping it should last me until next summer, at least! I have noticed that when I apply the product onto my fan brush there’s minimal fallout, I mean very minimal, the colours transfer lovely onto the brush but they don’t end up all over the palette. It’s never a good sign if there’s loose powder all over your palette, wasted product and money and it looks messy, not what a girl wants.
WOULD I BUY AGAIN?
If I remember correctly I’m pretty sure I was told by the sales assistant that this product is limited edition, however, it wasn’t made clear how long the product is out for. If I start to run low and ‘Afterglow’ is still on the shelves then I’ll defiantly be re-purchasing, brilliant quality and it’ll hurt my bank account less than trying out an Anastasia glow kit!
If you’ve tried this product out I’d love to know what you thought of it!
