2eI’m so over the moon with the progress my blog has made up until this day, all the support I get warms the heart so much, I can even put into words how much I appropriate it.

I thought that it would be a nice idea to set myself a few goals for my blog in 2018. I may not be able to achieve them all but I think it’s always a good idea to have something to aspire to, something to work towards so here’s my little list;

I understand that some months life is going to get crazy and finding the time to write, edit and take photo’s, is going to be very tough; especially when work gets a bit hectic in the summer. It’s in these months that I still like to hit the goal of 4 a month, it will just require a bit of prior planning and organisation which i’d like to think i’m getting much better at. I’m defiantly 100% sure that no matter what i’m not going to have a 5/6 month break like I did this summer, never again, it’s just not happening.

I always feel a bit uneasy saying I want to reach a higher follower count as at the end of the day it’s just numbers, not the be all or end all. However, it’s a goal in my head so I thought I might as well share it, I’d love to reach 3.5 on Instagram, that’s only 550 more than I have now. I don’t think it’s too unreasonable, as naturally within the next year i’m going to chat to more blogger and find more I like who I want to follow. We’ll see…

I think the main reason I’d love to attend some events is to actually meet other bloggers in person, it’d be quite a different experience to just chatting online. I just really want some more blogger pals and some I can drop a message and be like ‘tea, cake and photo-shoot?’. If you feel the same please drop me a message on twitter, I’d love that!

This year I’ve taken my blog self-hosted meaning I lost all my previous WordPress followers. It’s no big deal but I’d just like to grow by blog following on another site so those that’re interested can still view and enjoy my blog.

How to take a perfect flatly is still a big mystery to me, one I want to get slightly closer to solving. The plan is to get a soft-box to help with the lighting element, I’ll then get some more cute blogging props such as confetti, post cards, flowers and we’ll go from there.

Don’t cave in when it comes around to paying the bill for the following year of self hosting, it’s your blog, your space, a part of you on the internet. It’s staying this way, you love it so don’t go back to WordPress hosting. (This is a little note for me for when it comes around to the time next year when i’m debating the payment, remind me of this please)

These are great goals to have, they’re all totally realistic but so good for giving you something to work towards! I’d like to meet more of my blogging friends (I’m totally up for cake and a photoshoot!) and get to 2000 on Instagram, and 3000 on Twitter!

  15. These are fab goals. I know what you mean about not getting too caught up in numbers but they’re still a “nice to have”. I’ve dropped you a follow on BL too 😊 And I would so love to meet some other bloggers, I feel I miss out a little not being in London, most of the events seem to take place there! Lovely post, and good luck with your goals. X

I really really really REALLY want to meet some real life bloggers this year too and have some that are actually friends not just a changing face on a screen. I kinda fee like I live a million miles from everyone so I’m not sure if it’ll happen. Dreaming though. Another subject entirely but is that book good? I’ve nearly bought it a million times.

These are awesome goals! I too want to post 4 times a month. It can get really hard with school and other hints going on. Great post!

  20. Jess says:

I haven’t written any goals specifically for my blog, but if I did they would literally be identical to yours! I’ve also had big long breaks during blogging and I feel you because it can be very time consuming! I think 4 per month sounds great and definitely achievable!
As for blogging events..I attended my first one a few months ago and it was called “We heart Mondays”- you should definitely check them out because I believe they have an open door and welcome all bloggers without an invitation! It’s in London if that’s where your based?? Xxx

  26. Katie says:

Great goals! I love how realistic you are. I find myself starting out with high expectations for myself and not being able to fulfil them, but 4 posts a month is very doable, even with other stuff going on. Totally agree about attending a blogger event, it would be great to meet bloggers in person! I think I’d be too nervous to actually go though 🙁
btw, I think your photography is already awesome!

  27. These are great goals! I really want to improve my flatlays and photography, good luck with all these my love! Xx

Good luck on all of your goals, especially when it comes to posting content on your blog. I totally feel you on that one – sometimes I really struggle and just bosh out any old post, but I’d love to think about what I write a bit more this year.

  29. Lily says:

Firstly your photography is just on point! And I’m with you on the blogger events one. Unfortunately there’s never any around East Anglia 👎🏼

Good luck with all your goals babe!

    Love Lily xo

  30. Love this – so positive and motivational! I also think your photography skills are already good – just had a little peak! Keep up the good work and I’m sure once you get into a routine 4 posts a month minimum won’t seem so hard!

Keep up the good work and positive attitude! ⭐️

Your blog is one of my favourites to read, I am really hoping you achieve these goals. One of my goals this year is the same as yours with posting 4 times a month. Your photography is lovely but I think you will notice an improvement with a soft-box will help especially in winter!
