The idea of a ‘Fuck Budget’ originates from the book ‘The Life-Changing Magic Of Not Giving A Fuck’. Let me briefly explain:

Think of it like you have a certain amount of fucks to give in this world and only certain things are worth it, so essentially you need to decide what to give a fuck about. In the book, there is a lil space for you to write things you shouldn’t give a fuck about,  next that is a space to write what you’re going to give a fuck about instead. Pretty much getting your priorities straight, working out what you should care about.

The book suggests that you should categorise your fucks into ‘things’, ‘work’, ‘friends’ and ‘family’ in that order.  That’s what I’ve gone ahead and done, so here is my ‘Fuck Budget’ for 2018.

I won’t give a fuck about: My weight, the number on the scale doesn’t matter in the slightest, it doesn’t define you, you’re not the number.

I will give a fuck about: Cooking healthier meals, I totally love cooking and baking and I find it’s something I don’t make enough time for. I received the Joe Wicks cookbook last Christmas so I’d like to try out more of the recipes, defiantly all of the salmon ones because who doesn’t like salmon!

I won’t give a fuck about: What people think of me, especially when the person is one you’re never going to see again once you’ve finished that course, left your current job etc.

I’ll give a fuck about: What I think of me, as long as I’m happy with myself that’s all that matters. OH, the goal is to make 2019 proud of 2018 me!

I won’t give a fuck about: How I’m doing in comparison to the person next to me or the person I idolise on Instagram. It won’t help me develop myself, it’ll just put me down and hold me back.

I will give a fuck about: Grabbing each opportunity I’m given and trying my absolute best to make the most of it.

I won’t give a fuck about: Being the best at everything.

I will give a fuck about: My blog, I love it, I adore writing and sharing my life on here. I need to make sure that I continue to make time for it even when my schedule gets a bit CRAZY!

I won’t Give a fuck about: Followers, pfftt it’s just another number.

I will give a fuck about: Engagement with other bloggers on social platforms as more interaction is the way forward.

I won’t give a fuck about: I work for a small outdoor education company, the problem with a small company is when you take a day off sick, EVERYBODY knows. No matter what was wrong with you when you come back you always feel mega guilty, it’s like you’ve let the whole team down. In reality, you know there was no way you could have made it in as you had your head down the toilet all day.

I will give a fuck about: Me time, essentially de-stressing and relaxing after work so I can go back in the next day and give everything I do my all.

I won’t give a fuck about: Fake friends. Basically, those who only want to hang and talk to you when it’s convenient for them and when there’s no one else around.

I will give a fuck about: The friends they’ve always been there for me, It’d be lovely to see them more often.

I won’t give a fuck about: Certain family members opinions. Of course, I value them however it’s important to take it all with a pinch of salt.

I will give a fuck about: Family members opinions who are more supportive.

There we have it. The list of everything I’m going to care less about in 2018; fingers crossed it’s going to be an even better year than the last one.

What would you put in your ‘Fuck Budget’?

I agree, we should do more of the things that make us happy rather than worrying about other people and what they think. If they don’t support you, they don’t matter xx

This is such a good idea, I think we all give too many fucks about unnecessary things and stress ourselves out. I think I’m not going to give a fuck about what everyone else is doing compared to me but will give a fuck about my own happiness.
