It’s safe to say that it’s been the most eventful year of my life so far; I’ve have achieved so many things but I’ve also had a fair few tough moments.
I was going to do this in highlights and lowlights style but I think I’m going to talk you through my year in month order instead. If I can remember it all…
I was working as a trainee Outdoor Instructor and I’d received the news that I’d been offered a full-time contract for the following year. I’d also started driving lessons too with a new instructor, I was determined to succeed this time!
I did my assessment to become a rock climbing instructor (now called CWI Climbing Wall Instructor) which I passed and was VERY happy about.
In this month I was also struggling a little with my mental health, I was feeling rather anxious about a lot of situations that I didn’t use to.
It was one of those months you don’t really notice; I can’t think back and remember much from it. It was rainy, I went to work, came home, etc, just the normal.
I started Full Time as an outdoor instructor and I had successfully compleated my training year, YAY
I did a course to become a SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) Instructor which ya gal passed so she can now teach that!
DID MAY EVEN HAPPEN THIS YEAR? I can’t remember a single thing I did this month.
I PASSED MY DRIVING TEST (I think it was the third time but who cares, I passed)
This then lead to me buying MY FIRST CAR which was a Nissan Micra, I named her Nessie and we’ve now been on loads of road trips together.
Me and Lewiss went away for a long weekend to Centreparcs, it was the first time I’d ever been and I couldn’t get over how the park it like a whole other village. We had such a fab as time we’ve re-booked for 2019!
I received one of my first brand collaborations, this was with Boohoo (I chatted about transitional fashion from summer to autumn) and Oh Boy was I excited to have the opportunity to work with them on a post.
I turned twenty one on the 21st and it was one of the best birthdays, I went away to a little cabin by the seaside with Lewiss for a few days. We ate endless amounts of ice-cream, saw the new Christopher Robin film and created lots of happy memories. I was also SUPER LUCKY to receive a Nintendo switch, Lew and I stayed up most of the night playing Mario Kart, we’re just big kids really.
I also changed my hair to an ashy blonde colour; my hairdressers did a fantastic job of it and I was just obsessed with how it looked.
Lewiss and I went away for a weekend to Cornwall, at this time we attended a friends wedding in Treggenna Castle. The location, the weather and everything about the event was utterly beautiful and we had such a lovely time. I vlogged it over on my youtube which you can watch HERE.
At the end of this month, I moved into a flat share with another girl I had only briefly met and I was super happy to be independent with my own space.
I met another blogger called Stephanie Jay who is so lovely and has since become one of my best friends and I now couldn’t imagine my life without her.
I had an interview for a job that I really really wanted and I wasn’t successful. It’s okay though as I gained the experience so the next time something comes up I’ll stand a better chance.
I was State Champs play live in London for the first time with the lovely LaurenBlogs who I’ve since become such good friends with.
It was Lewiss’ Birthday and being the loving girlfriend I am I decided to fill my room with 650 balloons. On six of the balloons were letters, Lewiss had to find those ones and create a word from the letters, this was a clue to where his present was hidden. I’m not going to lie I was super chuffed that I managed to pull this one off. (already working on how I can up my game in 2019)
I got asked to leave the flat I’ve been living in for the past 7 weeks, the whole situation was a disaster really. I might do a video at some point talking about doing a flat-share and what it’s like living with someone you’ve only briefly met before. I thought it was such a fantastic idea at the start but there were so many small details I hadn’t considered, that you don’t think about in the ‘super excited, I want to move out NOW’ moment.
I finally dyed my hair back to a dark brown as I couldn’t keep up with the roots coming through the blonde, too much maintenance for me.
I saw my favourite band, You Me At Six, play the album ‘Take Off Your Colours’ in full. I have never screamed as much as when Elissa Franceschi joined Josh on stage for Always Attract, it was so special.
I worked with some amazing brands for my Blog/Instagram that I wouldn’t have dreamt of being able to work with. The first was the skincare brand ‘Dermologica’, I took part in their skin influencer program which included me trying some of their best sellers and their 2018 advent. I also worked with the lovely fashion brand ‘Cari’s Closet’ who gifted me the MOST BEAUTIFUL teddy coat I’ve ever seen, I live in it and you’re going to see so many images of it!
I’m sorry this was a bit of a longer post, I just wanted to include as much as possisble. I now can’t wait to see what twenty nineteen has in store for me and for my blog and I hope to stay to join me on this exciting journey.
How was your 2018?
