If you’re a fellow blogger then I’m sure you’ve heard of Peggy Porschen aka the cake cafe of dreams.

There’s no denying that it’s an Instagram hotspot, we all want to capture a quick few snaps here for the gram.

I wanted to see what Peggy was really like; could they be some of the best cakes I’ve ever tasted? Would it be the prettiest cafe I’ve ever sat in? I wanted the answers.

I headed over to the Cafe with Lauren for lunch, it was about a 15-minute walk from the nearest tube station; by the time we arrived, we were f-f-freezing!

As soon as the cafe came in sight I pointed it out to Lauren and gasped, I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The cafe had it’s Valentine’s day decorations up, there was a massive heart in the window made out of petals, a big love sign above the doorway and a cardboard eiffel tower in the window. It was very clear they took a lot of pride in their appearance.

We took a few snaps outside whilst queuing for an inside table; that’s right you have to queue outside for a table as it can be that busy. It seemed like there were only 10-15 tables on the inside, which is strange for a place that is so popular.

10 minutes later we were called in as a table had freed up for us.

I ordered myself a Red Velvet cupcake with a pot of tea and Lauren had a Valentines special cupcake with a Latte.

I guess it’s time to talk about the real pricing of the cafe as before going I’d heard a lot of rumors such as ‘a slice of cake is £15’ which sounded beyond crazy to me.

My Red Velvet cupcake was £5.60

Lauren’s Valentine’s special was £7.90

This is for the little cupcake, Peggy Porschen also does actual slices of cake which yes, I can now imagine being priced around £10.

I guess it’s somewhere you go for the ‘blogger experience’ or a special occasion, it’s not a cafe I would regularly visit as it’s WAY out of my budget.

If you rule out the price of the cakes, they were absolutely delicious; they weren’t too sickly, they really were A** cakes. Despite the cupcakes being small they are definitely filling, I only just managed to finish mine and Lauren had to take half of hers away in a box to snack on later.

Honestly, I can’t see myself ever going back to eat here again, mainly due to the price. If I’m in the area I may stop by again for a picture but I don’t see the point in dining.

If you have ever visited Peggy Porschen, what did you think of your experience there?

That place looks beautiful! I completely get what you mean by it being abit pricey, but I imagine that’s what happens when a business popular. The cakes sound delicious though, I’d still love to go just for the experience 🙈 thanks for sharing x

Finally an honest review on this place!! I haven’t been purely down to the fact that I think it’s overrated and don’t want to follow the crowd but I’m so glad to see a post that’s REAL!! 🙂

I love Peggy Porschens, but I did also think the price was quite a lot but I guess they know people will pay it! I’ll probably still go back 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 x

I agree, people will pay it because they know it’s a well known Instagram location so it becomes a tourist spot x
