I was ever so kindly gifted this mascara from the lovely girls over at ‘CODE VLM’, despite this, everything I say about the product will be my honest opinions.
I always love testing out new make-up brands I haven’t heard of before, there’s the excitement of ‘Am I about to discover one of my favourite products?‘. I guess it’s time to find out!
On the packaging of the mascara it states ‘CODE VLM‘ will:
- be tearproof for the emotional moments
- provide length, thickness, volume, separation & curl
- leave behind no smudges, clumps or flakes
- be kind to your lashes with vitamins & wakes to encourage lash growth
- It is also NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS (I always love reading that!)
Did the mascara live up to what it claims to be?
The product is priced at £19.95 over on beauty bay which means it’s in the same price bracket as my favourite mascara EVER, Laura Geller Lash Boss. I find you always pay that little bit more for a product that isn’t tested on animals, I don’t mind that too much as it’s for a good reason.
I found the mascara had a fairly watery consistency, this meant I needed a few coats of the product before I felt happy with the appearance of my lashes. Once applied, I couldn’t fault the mascara, it did exactly what it claims to be, which is waterproof; after a little cry, I didn’t have black around my eyes. That’s always a bonus.
After having the mascara on all day it was still in place and my lashes still looked ace.
The ‘CODE VLM’ mascara is one I would recommend if you’re looking for cruelty-free brands, however, it hasn’t stolen my heart from my all-time favourite. I would have gone back and purchased this again if it wasn’t for the steep pricing, an expensive mascara to me is a treat and not something I can afford on the daily. If it had a drugstore price of £8 then I couldn’t fault it.
Have you tried this product out?
