This is a camera we’ve all heard mentioned within the blogging world, I’d say the main two spoken about cameras are the Olympus Pen and the Canon G7x. If you’re a blogger I’m sure you’ve considered buying one of these if you don’t have one already but how much do you know about them?
Here’s I’ll inform you of all the reasons I like the Pen and why it’s been the perfect match for me.
The days of having to put your SD into your laptop to import the images and then ping them over to your phone to edit are GONE! The wifi feature speeds up the whole transferring images process by a good half an hour; you can take a quick snap and literally 2 minuites later have it edited and up on Instagram.
On the camera screen, there is a Wifi button in the top left-hand corner, once you’ve pressed this the wifi will be turned on. The next step is to go into your phone’s wifi camera settings and connect to the one that says Olympus Pen Epl-7. The two devices are now all linked up. Now for sending over the images, this is all done through the Olympus app; you click the import images button on the app home screen, select the images you want to import and that’s it. SIMPLE!
This feature means that the camera is perfect for vlogging as you’re able to see yourself talking away. It’s also good for selfies and taking pictures with your family/ friends as the quality is much clearer than a phone.
Easy To Use
You don’t need to be a photographer to use the pen, no online course is needed. There is an automatic feature that sets the aperture for you which is super handy for a beginner.
Remote Control Feature
There is an Olympus Pen app that you’re able to download for free from the app store onto your phone. Once the camera is connected you can view the camera screen on your phone, then when you press the take picture button on your phone the image is captured. This aspect makes the pen ideal for outfit pictures, you no longer need to worry about who is going to take your pictures and how long they’re going to want to spend being a photographer!
The Olympus Pen comes with a flash that can be slot onto the top of the camera. This gives you the choice of having it on there or not; there’s nothing worse than having the flash going off when you want a non-flash image.
The pen mark 7 sits at around the £400 mark; I believe there is now a newer updated version that is the mark 8. This is fairly decent for the number of features and the quality of images you’re getting.
I couldn’t have asked for anything more from a camera. I’ve now had my Olympus Pen for 2 years and I haven’t had a single technical issue with it so as long as you take care of it, it’s one that should last.
If you’re a blogger/vlogger I would love to know what camera you use and if you like it!
