We’ve all had the days where we turn on our laptop to do something productive on our blog and instead we just end up Pinterest scrolling. It’s an easy trap to fall into. (or like me you don’t post anything in almost 2 months as you get overwhelmed with what to do next).
The best way to avoid wasting your time online is to have a list of quick things you can do that will benefit your blog
POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA
This can range from tweeting about what you’ve done today on twitter, posting a picture of your tea on your Instagram story or blog post promotion. There are several sites you can use to promote your current blog posts, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tailwind and Email lists are the main ones. Even if you’ve already posted about the new posts once, why not do it again as not everyone will have seen, as long as it’s not every hour as that gets a bit spammy.
REPLY TO YOUR BLOG COMMENTS
I love reading my comments, seeing what others thought about what I wrote, what their opinion is on the topic etc. It can be so easy though to quickly read them and then carry on with whatever you’re doing but taking those couple of minuites to reply to the comments makes such a difference, it makes those people more likely to comment again as you’re engaging with them.
FINISH A DRAFTED POST
c’mon we all have at least 10 of these sat in our drafts if you don’t them you’re too organised. (teach me your ways)
TAKE PART IN A COMMENT THREAD
Comment threads happen quite regularly on Twitter, it allows you to share blog posts and gain comments and engagement. It also allows you to find new blogs of likeminded people to read and engage with!
WRITE DOWN BLOG POST IDEAS
We’ve all had that bomber of an idea whilst you’re having a shower or right before you fall asleep and by the time you’ve sat down to write it’s totally gone. Easy fix, make a note whether it’s on a scrap piece of paper, your phone or hand, it really doesn’t matter.
What do you do every day on your blog?
